Define Good...

Well after all the bad weather of late, what a cracker of a day we've had! It was really frosty first thing when I went for my run, but by the time the sun was up, the frost had shifted and it ended up being a lovely day - spent in the garden! & after such a busy day, I thought I'd turn out another card, and for some reason, I'm really in to doing Christmas cards at the moment! Think it's because I have several new stamps that I just want to see made up and can't wait till the end of the year!

So, using Bugaboo Stella and another fantastic sentiment, which I can fully relate to, here's my card;

Papers, perfect for the sentiment are by Fancy Pants - Saint Nick, colouring by Promarkers and card candi, glaze & stickles to finish off.

Challenges;
CHCC - Christmas card without the work Christmas on it.

Bye-Bye Chemist Shop

For 3 years, Alan has had a Saturday job in a local chemist shop, but that all came to an end last week when he got offered a new Saturday job at Tesco. It's all come about really quickly so much so he hasn't even worked a period of notice, but because he loved his old job, he wanted a farewell card to go along with the home-made biscuits he's taking in next week. So here it is;

He picked the image himself - yup it's another Bugaboo! Hopefully the staff will like it too.

Don't know who's more nervous in our household this morning as Colin sets off for his first exam. (That's a lie - I win hands down!) So to take my mind off things I thought I'd dig out an old photo, this is Colin on his first day at school.

He's a bit bigger now that he's 15!

Will be back later after my run with a card. Jx

Crafty Sunday

Well what a great day today has been, the sun even managed to appear, & unlike other days last week, it decided to spend most of the day out from behind the clouds.

So, to start with, I went for my 2.5 mile run in training for the Tesco Race for Life at the end of June. I was then back in just as the others were getting up, then after orders for home made scones & pancakes, followed by popping on a pan of home-made soup, it was time to craft.

My first card was a Xmas one, see last post, but my 2nd card was this pretty little Birthday card using the fab freebie, from a few weeks back from Bugaboo. She's called, Girlz-Shop and is now available to buy from their online shop.

Papers this time are by Andrea Jayne, the webbing from Crafty Emma's store, & the pine shoppers from a local shop, Designs on Pine.

Challenges;
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Great sketch ladies
I Love Promarkers - Shopping
Wags & Whiskers - Anything Goes

Tangled Rudolph

This is the stamp I bought last October when we were in New York & I visited The Ink Pad, I din't use him much last year, but I'm lovin using him this!

I just think it's the sweetest stamp, & I love the way it colours. It also goes perfectly with my Dovecraft Happy Jolly Christmas Papers. My card is coloured with Promarkers then the baubles & nose given a layer of glaze to make them stand out. Finally the card is finished with buttons & brads, not forgetting the distress inking of all paper edges.

Challenges;
CCWS - Another beauty ladies
CHCC - Lots of layers - tick
ABC Xmas Challenge "M" for metal - my two brads at the right of the card

Finally, I'd just like to say a HUGE thank you to Christmas Challenges With Sketches for picking me as their winner last time, & an even BIGGER thank you to the sponsors Heindesign. What fantastic stamps they have - & I got to pick two. I'm absolutely delighted with them & would have loved to use my new stamp this challenge only it wouldn't have fitted the colour theme, maybe next time it will. Jx

Still At Babies

Well I'm getting through the baby requests, only another 3 to do! This time I've used my baby in a towel stamp again with Craft Companion papers. Made this one last night, but couldn't get a good photo till day light. Good job the camera was out first thing, cause it's now as dark as it was last night as it's just bucketing down with rain. I'm glad I hadn't any outdoor jobs planned for today. No, today is a visiting day - off through to my parents for lunch and with a bit of luck , tattie soup will be on the menu!

& Liz, if you're looking this is your card - made within 3 hrs of asking! Jx

Bambino - Archie

So many people want baby cards at the moment - so guess what the next few cards will be? I so love this Sugar Nellie Digi - certainly makes baby cards easy. I also love the Craft Creations pastel papers - perfect for coordinating with said images!

Like most baby cards I do once baby is here, it's easel style so a message/details can go on the front of the card without it looking crowded.

In The Garden

Well the school holidays are now behind us and as my boys were revising for the forthcoming exams, I disappeared off upstairs to craft!

This particular card is for the next Oldie But A Goodie challenge, set by Tracy. She choose

In The Garden or On The Farm

as her theme, & we're lucky enough to be sponsored by Robyn's Fetish this time, & they are offering the lucky winner 5 digi's of their choice.

For my card, I chose the House Mouse stamp "Give Peas A Chance". Although it's the first time I've used it, it's an Oldie dated 2010, as are the MME papers which I got a year or so ago.

Also on my card are some lovely ribbon & buttons, won in a Ribbon Girl prize last year along with a punched border which came from Dies To Die For in my recent order. The question is though - is it made from a die or punch - and which one so I can order it...If anyone can tell me, I'd be most grateful!

SORTED! - Tracy from Dies to Die For has been back in touch & told me it's an MS punch...which surprisingly has just been ordered!!!

Bugaboo Margaret

Last week, I bought this Bugaboo digi for a card my husband wanted, for a person who always sleeps in - perfect I thought, just hope the recipient sees the funny side - I'm sure she will!

Anyway, the Bugaboo says it all, so why do more!

Sorry about the quality of the pic, but white cards are always hard to photo at night, & the card pic was too dark when the flash was turned off.

Never fear though, the boys are revising, or shut in there rooms with their computers pretending to revise, so I can craft!

Grumpy Robin

For all the Christmas stamps out there, there is a distinct lack of robin's in my mind. I have a couple of Penny Black stamps with robins on them, but this is the only stamp I have to just feature a robin on his own-e-oh! Sadly he doesn't look that happy either - think his best friend is Mr Turkey!

Anyway, my card uses this Anita's stamp & the lovely papers called St Nick by Fancypants.

& I'm entering him into the Winter Wonderland challenge of robins, Jx

Love Is The Thread...

Sew Much Fun!

Some cards you make & then think, why did I bother - others just seem to be so much fun from start to finish! Now this one may not be to everyone's taste, but it was certainly fun to make & I really love the end result!

The image is a digi from Sj's Little Musings. It's then mounted on card, before being set onto material - curtain off-cuts to be precise.

The sewing machine & pinking sheers were also in action for this one, then the card was finished off with buttons & pins.

Challenges;
Sunday Sketch & Stamp - their lovely sketch
Cupcake Craft - Sewing Box
Papertake - Anything Goes

Shirty

I won this stamp last year from an Oldie But Goodie challenge sponsored by Stampelkallan & as I'm on a mission to use old stamps before I buy more, I dug it out & put it to work. Confession though... I couldn't pass by the craft shop in Elgin without making a stamp purchase or two so I've broken my resolution not to buy more rubber stamps, but at least it lasted till April!

Now the initial plan for this card was to paper piece the shirt - until I couldn't find the paper pack that the stripy paper came from, so I can't tell you a make or make my card to plan. Never mind, good old Promarkers came to the rescue!

April Showers

Well this is a scheduled post as I'm actually away just now in Inverness for a short break as the schools are on holiday here. Hopefully blogger has done his bit as I'm not on hand to fix things, & I also hope that Lisa hasn't jinxed the weather with her current theme at Oldie But Goodie Challenge, which is...

April Showers

This time we are sponsored again by the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps, & I have used another of their great images.

The lucky winner will receive 7 great digi's of their choice as their prize. If however you're not lucky enough to win, why not try them for yourself for free, as every week they offer a new freebie which runs all week!

Back to our challenge and I chose this stamp called, "Fancy FB Umbrella" coloured her with Promarkers & used Doodlebug papers. I then added the flowers, ribbon, button & glaze along with a PB sentiment to complete my card.

Now it's your turn to get creative, check out the other DT ladies works then plan your own - remember, you can now use any stamps on this challenge, including digi, but you must use & tell us something older than 6 months on your card. (My oldies were, the ribbon & button & flowers.)
