29th Feb

Wish we had 29th Feb more often, cause it's a cracking day!

We have had such mild weather of late, and today is no exception. This good weather certainly puts a spring in your step - well it does me. So far I've done 2 loads of washing, made the beds and tidied the kitchen, been for a run and now I've just finished off a card - all before 11 o'clock before I start work!

So, my card, a lovely LOTV, that I really should use more often. I love these stamps and haven't used them in ages so I think I'm moving into a LOTV phase... now my Bugaboo phase has passed!

Challenges;
Papertake - Lovely sketch
LLFC - Tea Party
LCI - Pink & Girly

Tender Showers

This is the first Penny Black I bought, it was made in 2004 & I didn't buy it until a few years later when I saw it on Ebay. At the time, I thought it was quite an expensive stamp - wish I'd bought more back then though as they were a fraction of what they are now!

So, my card, coloured with Promarkers as always and completed with steam binding ribbon from The Ribbon Girl & those lovely Andrea Jayne, Tulip, Linen papers which I'm chomping my way through just now.

For a bit of depth, I've double stamped & raised the "helicopter daisy" and set it on foam pads!

Challenges:
Sketch Saturday - Another great sketch
Passion For Promarkers - Pastel Colours
Dies To Die For - Anything Goes, Jx

Running Late

Just want to post this quickly before tea so I'm in for a challenge - will add details later!

Challenges;
Passion For Promarkers - Black & White
Sugar Bowl - Their sketch - will try to do another with kraft later in week.

Sorry about the brief post above - we're now all fed & watered so I can go into details...

The card is made on White Diamond card from The Papeterie in Aberdeen. This stuff is brilliant as it doesn't let Promarkers bleed - no matter how much blending is going on! The image is an old Gorjuss Girl by Sugar Nellie and the papers are Doodlebug. The mesh is also from The Papeterie & finally the sentiment is a PB.

More Challenges this one fits include;

Addicted To Stamps - Birthdays & Dots
Dies To Die For - Anything Goes - DELETE ENTRY - Too many others!
Lexi's Creations - Monochromatic
MAWTT - Lots Of Layers
Allsorts - Free & Easy Feb

Busy Sunday

Well I don't know if it's been the same all over the UK this weekend, but it's been brilliant weather here, dry, sunny & not too cold either, so Colin & I decided to do a car boot. We were very pleased with our sales so the 6am rise seemed well worth it and in the words of Wallace, (& Gromit!) we had "A Grand Day Out!".

As a result of being out, I'll only post a quick card tonight, & it's this one using my Taylored Expressions stamp.

Challenges;
I Love Promarkers - Time
Dream Valley Challenges - Just For Men
Ippity Challenge - CAS
Wags & Whiskers - Male Card Jx

Too Fluffy?

This has been a fun card to make - & it's for my twin sis, so she better keep off my blog for a bit or else!

Now the question is... is it too fluffy? Perhaps yes, but it was still a fun card to make!

The image is LOTV as is the cupcake sentiment, the papers Andrea Jayne and the colouring by Promarker.

And this time, I will actually enter the challenge as opposed to just talking about it - couldn't believe it when I saw my Rudolph card had been posted but not entered into two challenges this week - WHAT A MUPPET I AM!

Challenges;
Cupcake Craft - Cupcake, pink & fluffy - just a bit!
Diva's By Design - Bling it Up - Cupcake topping lovely and glittery and wings glossed.
Flutterby Wednesday - Fairy & Pink Jx

Stwoberry

Many years ago we met a waiter in the Algarve, who couldn't pronounce strawberry properly. My husband used to go in and ask what ice-cream was on the menu each day, just to make us laugh! If said waiter is reading this post, I'm sorry, it was rather rude although we never laughed in front of him, it was always later when we started repeating stwoberry several times over!!!

Enough!

It's time for a new Oldie But Goodie challenge, this time it's set by Claire, and she's gone with the theme

Red & White & A Ribbon
(+ use something at least 6 months old on your card)

This time we are lucky enough to be sponsored by the lovely Digi Doodle Shop, who very kindly gave the DT some images to use - thanks for that.

They are also offering the winner $10 to spend in their shop on items of their choice.

So, onto my card. As I said, the image is by Digi Doodle Shop. Its coloured with Promarkers and set on an embossed white background. The flower is cut using an Marianne die, and the strawberry button in the centre is my oldie - I think I bought it when I knitted baby stuff while pregnant, so we're talking 15+ years old!

So, that's my entry for An Oldie but A Goodie, why not go over to the main blog and check out the other DT cards before making a start on yours?

Challenges;
I Love Promarkers - Nature - Wild strawberries
Craft Us Crazy - Favourite Colour or Embellishment - mine is buttons
Do You Stack Up - Layers
Stampalot - In the Garden - Strawberries - I wish!

Snow Is Falling

... well it was yesterday, so much so I had my snow shovel in action to clear the driveway. There's still quite a lot lying today, but it is shifting quite quickly & with the temperatures they have forecast for today, with a bit of luck it will all be gone by tonight.

So, on that snowy theme, another Christmas card, using another lovely Bugaboo. Coloured with Promarkers, glittered with stickles & glazed in a few places. Sentiment by LOTV.

Challenges;
Sketch Sat - Their lovely sketch
Winter Wonderland - Christmas Card Jx

Eilidh The Mermaid

This card is for Eilidh my niece who will be 6 on her next birthday. She loves to swim and has also said she would love to be a mermaid! when my sister saw this image, she asked if I could use it on her card - so here's the end result.

The image is Bugaboo, coloured with Promarkers, & the papers are Craft Companion I think, but the names were chopped off in a previous cut!

Bugaboo Bauble Rudolph

Hope Valentines day was enjoyable for you all yesterday. We had a lovely day - didn't do much as the weather wasn't great. Then at night, we were going to eat out, but when it came down to it, we just stayed in and watched a DVD instead. the DVD was a gift from Craig - Crazy Stupid Love - a very enjoyable film with a romantic happy ending - perfect foe Valentines night really.

Todays card is another Christmas one using a super cute Bugaboo reindeer. He's coloured with Promarkers & glazed in a few places. Papers are old Dovecraft off cuts off the off cut mountain! The sketch used is last weeks CCWS - only I was too late for a 2nd entry. Great sketch though for using scraps!

Challenges;

ABC Christmas - C Charming - The silver heart charm
Cupcake Craft - Entwined - Use twine Jx

Finally I have to share this one with you - Tommy our cat must have been fighting last night - this is what jumped on my bed just after midnight!

Glad to report he's ok though - can't imagine what the other guy looks like! Jx

Luv a Latte

I've had this stamp a while, but this is the first time I've actually used it! I'm being really good this year - still no new stamps purchased and its half way through Feb. I also still have loads more new stamps to see the back of the ink pad, so it doesn't look like I'll be buying any new stamps soon - though I am tempted by all the Jubilee stuff coming on the go, especially Union Jack bunting I have seen & the new PB London range.

Anyway, back to today's card. Its a Sugar Nellie, coloured with Promarkers & combined with more of My Mind's Eye papers - Six by Six.

The tag pulls out to reveal the sentiment,

Lil Fashionette - 20's Evie

I was on a roll last night at Dancing on Ice - the boys were at the cinema, so it was an evening of craft & telly.

This is my second image I won from Tickled Pink Stamps. She's called Lil Fashionette - 20's Evie.

Again, my colouring is done with Promarkers, (Henna/Cocoa/Cinnamon/Tan) and the papers are My Mind's Eye - Six by Six.

Tickled Pink

Well I was tickled pink, when I noticed I'd won a prize of a couple of digi's from Tickled Pink stamps. Not so clever was the fact that I didn't claim them from Cupcake Crafts Challenge in time, but my story has a happy ending as Faye at CCC understood, & TPS honoured the gift. Thanks to all.

My card tonight uses the Tickled Pink stamp Lil Fashionette - 60's Ivy and is coloured with Promarkers. Papers are Doodlebug & the card is finished off with mesh & pearls.

Parlez Vous Francaise?

Todays card uses a Bugaboo snowman - there are a few! Not sure of the papers, but the snowflakes are from Dynamics die cuts. I also used my snow pen for the first time... interesting stuff - it grows on heat, unlike the real stuff which shrinks!

CHCC - Die cuts - 2nd entry... is that allowed?

Finally for those who can be bothered, a household tale. This is so funny...
Transcript of text conversation with my son today who was sitting his french exam - which he wasn't really looking forward to as he had to write in french, so the texts went as follows;

Me - How was the exam?
Son - I wrote half a page.
Me - Was what you wrote on topic?
Son - I wrote about spicy food and school subjects
Me - But what were you asked to write about?
Son - I'm not sure, the title was in French!!!

...Classic! Jx

Special Delivery

It hardly seems 2 weeks since the last Oldie But Goodie post, but it's 7th Feb, (already) and time for another challenge. We had a fantastic amount of entrants to the last challenge, so hopefully it will be the same for this. Sara has picked
Lace

as her theme this time, so as long your card has lace & uses something from your crafty stash that's older than 6 months you can enter.

We are lucky enough this time to be sponsored by the brilliant Bugaboo again, and they are offering one lucky winner 7 of their digi images.

For my card, I wanted to use a Bugaboo image, & I chose this lovely stork. The papers are Craft Companion from last year - probably older than 6 months - but I know for a fact the lace definitely is. The ribbon is off a clothing tag, (recycled) and the wooden bow from a local shop.

Challenges;

Sketch n Stash - Their great sketch - No 52 (New digi, old papers, lace & bow)
Passion For Promarkers - New Beginnings
Crafty Catz - Pink & White
Crafty Cardmakers - Monochrome - Pink in my case

Catch The Bug Sat - Anything Goes

Sorry for the length of this post - will blame it on the photos - & for those of you still hanging on in there, why not pop over to the main Oldie But Goodie Challenge blog to check out the other DT cards. Jx

Love Is Like A Butterfly!

Love You Lots Grandma

I mentioned on Fri that I intended to use this Bugaboo image on a Birthday card, (I did a Valentine with it then.) So here's my easel card. I made it for my next door neighbours grand children, to give to their Grandma - so can you guess, there's a little boy & his big sis! And I thought the love sentiment was perfect for this occasion too.

Image - Bugaboo
Papers - Andrea Jayne - so love these - bought in Dec before the no purchases rule!
Colouring - Promarkers
Mesh & Bow off my very cluttered desk!

Now I realise the white oval at the base of the card is quite bare, but that was intentional, so Lauren & Ciaran could sign off on the card themselves!

Teddy Bear Christmas

Whilst at Dancing on Ice, (again), this week, I stuck together a couple of cards I'd cut out and coloured earlier on today. The first is this Christmas one, using a lovely LOTV image given to me by my crafty buddy, Ann. It's a lovely stamp and one I'd be tempted to buy were it not for my UIU pledge - that's "Use It Up!" And it is hard, cause you see so many others using things you don't have, but so far this year I've been good.

Colouring - Promarkers
Papers - Dovecraft & Kraft

Challenges;
CHCC - Die Cuts - both circles
ABC Xmas - B for Bears & buttons
CCWS - Another great sketch Jx

Love You Lots!

There are so many great images at Bugaboo, it's often hard to decide which to get next - but as Valentines day is fast approaching, I thought I'd get this Love one.

Today I have used the image as probably intended, on a Valentines card - but over the weekend, I intend to make a birthday card with it too.

Can't give you many details about the card other than the image, cause the rest of the bits are oldies, the mesh ribbon is from the Papeterie, but the paper is from my scrap box & the wooden heart is from a local craft shop!

Challenges;

Craft Us Crazy - Anything Goes
