A Little Black Dress

At the beginning of the year I was lucky enough to win a $10 prize from Sweet Stamps Store and the store were very generous in reducing postage costs to the UK in order for me to cash in my prize.  Thanks ladies!

Anyway, I chose an Artsy Fartsy stamp called Black Dress & Shoes and today is this lovely new stamp's first outing!

Papers on my card are a mix of Basic Grey, Little Back Dress and MME, Lost & found - both lovely pads! My pearls are all from Hobby House courtesy of Pami and my fabby candy win last year.

Two Girls & Mom

As well as papers, I also got several new digi's for Christmas, and one of them was the one shown below - thanks Colin, you really do pick well!  It's called Two Girls and Mom and is by A Day For Daisies - it's found here.

So, I've kept my card quite simple, I've paper pieced the clothing on the image and coloured the rest by Promarker.  Papers are all off the scrap pile so your guess is as good as mine as to who they are by!

Challenges;
A Day For Daisies - Green
Sketch n Stash - 133 - My 2nd card using the sketch- this time rotated. New image old papers!

Hepburn Dress

There are so many good digi stamps on the go now, it's hard to decide which one to use next.  I keep saying I must work my way through my rubber stamps, then a freebie like this one pops up and you know you just have to get it!

A Day for Daisies is such a generous company - lots of their freebies are just as good as their regular stamps and this one is a prime example.  Sorry I never got round to using it while it was still a freebie, but it's still available in their shop along with several other new freebies so check them out.

Challenges;
Sketch Staurday - Flipped the layout to suit the stamp - hope that's ok?

Skipping Along

Well card production has certainly been skipping along this week - you may have noticed - lots of postings and a bit thin on comments.  Well there is a reason... my card box has been a bit busy of late, firstly there were several family & friends birthdays, and secondly - I'm fund raising again.

This year my chosen charity is not a health one but a country...I raising funds for

North East Scotland Support For Romania

A smallish local charity which supports families in Romania - more details here.

Anyway, my neighbour volunteers for them on a regular basis and has been out with aid on several trips - her next one is scheduled for Easter.  She and the team are currenlty fund raising to buy an adult push-chair for a young Romanian mad with major mobility problems as a result of having cerebral palsy.  So for the next few months I'll be selling my cards to raise funds for them.

I'll also be helping out at their bigger fund-raiser in March - an Intoxicating Tea Party.  Any of you heard of them?  Its a tea party served with a lovely china tea-set only it ain't tea in the pot...it's cocktails! How fantastic is that???

So pictures of that event to follow, but for now a card to join the box!

MAWTT Sketch Time

Hands up who likes sketch challenges?

Me, I love them and always start there when making a new card, and this time over at Moving Along With The Times, guess what?  Hazel has drawn us a sketch!

So as long as the sketch is easily recognisable on your project we'd love to have you join us.

My card uses another fab digi by Mo Manning, and papers by Nitwits by LOTV.

The card was for Colin who was 17 earlier this week and who's favourite position is on our brown recliner, only he's more often seen with a text book and laptop as his accessories - NOT!

Laurie has very kindly put up a prize this time around so our lucky winner could have the lovely embellishment set shown below appearing on their craft table!

Papers are Doodlebug and Craft Creations and the colouring by Promarker.

Challenges;
Sweet Stampin - Sketch
Papertake - Lovely layers

Buttons

Morning everyone and welcome to a new challenge over at An Oldie But A Goodie.  This time, Dips has chosen the theme of,

Buttons
(Please remember to use something older than 6 months on your project and to tell us what it is.)

For my card, I had another go at vintage style, so that I could encorporate an old photograph onto my card. The photo is of my neighbour who celebrated her birthday this week - Happy Birthday Stella!  I have to admit I told her a pack of lies as to why I needed an old photo, so I could get one for her card.  We discussed it on her birthday and she said the day I ran off with the photo she truely believed it was for a vintage challenge.  It was only days later that the penny dropped and she realised I was up to something.

Papers this time are a mix of Basic Grey and MME, my oldie is the button and lace and the pearls are Hobbyhouse, from the lovely Pami.  My oldie is the photo and the lace and the flower is made following a super tutorial posted by Craftyloops.

Challenges;
Hobby House - Anything goes - the pearl brads are HH
Flat Friends - More than 1 fold.
Sweet Stamps - Fun folds
Allsorts - Use brads - Hobby House pearl ones
Little Claires - Monotone
Open Minded Crafting Fun - Monochrome

The prize this time around is a bag of buttons from Andrea.

Vellum or Parchment

Today's Wendy's first time hosting a challenge over at Moving Along With The Times, and she has chosen the theme of

Vellum or Parchment

Both mediums I don't tend to use, but Vellum is something I've bought in the past...then shoved in a drawer!

 So it was a vellum sheet, from a pad I bought in the January sales that I coupled to a gorgeous Mo Manning image.  Simple gold & white colour scheme and my 5th Christmas card of the year!
