I'm still busy using up images and papers I'd printed off last year from my Ooh La La CD's - I had them all in a folder when we were through staying in Aberdeen, so I blitz through them at the weekend and came up with these,

...again to stock up my charity box of cards raising funds for Cancer Research UK.

There are so many great Ooh La La CD's out there, that I sometimes forget to flick back through the older ones when making my cards, but for the latest challenge that's just what I did!

and for my card, I wanted the bird to be the main image, not just a speck in the sky!  So I got searching, and found this lovely chap - Elegant Rooster by Shawn Jenkins and I thought he fitted the bill nicely - that's the rooster, not Shawn!!!

Again, most of the card elements are from the CD except the PB sentiment, the lace and pearls.

Race For Life

On Thursday, I decided to use up some of the duplicate images I'd printed off as part of my DT work for Ooh La La.  I had a fun day, putting together some quick cards to fill up my sales box in readiness for my latest fund raising campaign...

So here they are,

All to be sold in aid of Cancer Research UK.

A charity that I have fund raised for in previous years, but one that I have returned to as too many peoples lives are still affected by this horrid disease, and without vital funds research cannot continue.

Over the last year, my husband has battled with this dreadful disease, he underwent several rounds of both chemo and radiotherapy and for now the treatment has worked.  With two consecutive clear scans we are quietly optimistic, but who knows what lies ahead... All we do know is that the future will be brighter if Cancer Research UK continue their marvelous work into new treatments and hopefully cures for all cancers.

So please, if you can click on the link on the top right of my blog and perhaps leave a small donation on my Just Giving Page.  I set it up after I signed up to do the Aberdeen 5km Race for Life with my twin sister, my nieces and my son's girlfriend.  Together we can fight cancer!

Penguin Tree

Right, this will have to be my last Christmas card for a while as I'm wanting to get on and make more seasonal cards to fill up my card box.  Can't believe how many I've made so far, so hopefully that's me well on track for meeting my needs this year!

But before the Christmas stamps disappear, I thought I'd share this sweet image with you, it's by Great Impressions and I just love how the penguins create their own tree!

Time most certainly does fly, my niece is ten this year and growing up fast!

Here is the card I made for her using a super LOTV little fairy and some Bo Bunny papers.  The image is coloured with Promarkers, glamour dust added in a few places and the card finished with a PB sentiment and a die cut flower border.

In The Garden

Has Spring sprung in your neck of the woods? I think at last it maybe has with us!  Two consecutive days of sunshine, no snow and temperatures approaching double figures, almost tropical I'd say!!!

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at MAWTT and this time the theme is

So I used a lovely new Wild Rose Studio stamp for the job.  I say new, but I've had it for well over a year now as I got it Birthday time last year from a fellow blogger - thanks Mrs :) x.

So that's the stamp, the papers are old favourites, The Avenues Collection by Bo Bunny, and colouring as always by Promarker.  And I just want to say, that yet again a much better colour match was achieved by picking the papers then colouring the image!  I so got it wrong when I coloured first then struggled to get papers to match - thanks Sarah, I think that tip came from you!

Finally I'm chuffed to say that the Aberdeen Race For Life date has at last been announced and participants can now register, so I'm rallying the troops and hope to be reporting back to you that we have a team registered...hopefully!

Horsey Horsey

I'm so not a horsey person, (sorry Liz, Sarah & Eilidh & Mallow Sarah!)  I love animals, but horses are just too big, (and a bit unpredictable & scary.)  So it's a good job this card isn't for me then isn't it!

It's for my niece Sarah as it's her birthday today, and she, like her Mum (when she was younger) loves a horse and even wants one!!!

The image is by Polkadoodles - picked especially with Sarah in mind.  Not sure about papers but the colouring is by Promarker.

Spring Is InThe Air

I'm working way ahead here, not only have I done my card ahead of things, but here's me writing a March post in Jan...organised or what!

I hope it is, by the time this goes live -currently, (Jan) I can see tips of my Spring bulbs just popping through just now, but hopefully as this posts there will be a touch of Spring colour in the garden.

So, for my card today, I went back to the Shawn Jenkins Collection and picked this lovely Tulip file.

This time, a ribbon, butterfly and candi were added to the card to finish it off.

Krafty Christmas

I've already entered this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 challenge with a birthday card, but I wanted to continue with my art pad Christmas cards using their challenges also...problem was, all the art pad images were too big for my selection of oval dies!

Not to be deterred I used my rectangular image with the corners rounded...almost an oval???

I then followed the sketch as best I could and came up with this...

Delights

Delights is the name of the Penny Black stamp I'm using today, and it was a delightful find when I unearthed it from under clutter mountain on my desk!

I think this is the first time I've used this stamp which is a poor show cause it's so sweet!  I've combined it with really old K & Co papers, which we all had back in my Docrafts days!

The card follows the current sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday - and it made me realise I'm really not a side ways oval girl, by that I mean most of my stamps fit an upright oval - hence the stamp search!

Anyway I really like this sketch and will use it again most certainly!

Race For Life

Today's card is for my twin sister Liz who I am trying to encourage to do the Race For Life with me this year, last time we spoke she was kinda undecided, so I thought a bit more pressure was needed to make her sign up! (She love's me really!)

So in keeping with the race theme, I chose this Kraftin Kimmie stamp and hopefully depicted a happy runner on a sunny day!

I've used several dies on this one, coloured using Promarkers and finished off my card with ribbon and lace.

All I now need is for the Race for Life team to confirm the date for the Aberdeen race, so we can sign up and start serious training...has serious training happened before???

Oh Christmas Tree

I'm still doing well with my Christmas card makes this year - just going at it slow and steady, and I have set my own challenge within a challenge and am trying to complete a set of Christmas cards using a LOTV art pad and a pack of their papers.

I'm doing quite well with my card making this year - think I'm averaging at about two cards a week, which is down from my all time best, but up from last year again! (In case you wanted the statistics!!!)

This card however was made a while ago, and came to the surface when a neighbour wanted a card - I then realised it had not been blogged to here it is now!

The image is a gorgeous Hannah Lynn - although she is looking a bit pasty faced - think that's partly down to the flash but also my limited colouring skills.  Hopefully that will be resolved this year if I can find time to do a Kit and Clowder class - or two! (They are on my to-do list!)

One of the reasons I love being on the MAWTT team is that now and again we do different challenges, so while the rest of you are on bunnies and hearts Christine has gone for saying it with words - no image!  So we are looking for

Now this isn't something I would normally do - I love my cute stamps and CD images, however, when I saw this Bugaboo stamp at the end of last year, I knew it had to be added to my digi collection.

So here is my simple coffee themed card.  Coffee cup, coffee coloured and filled with coffee associated words.  All I needed to do here was print, ink and cut out!

As well as trying to keep ahead of Christmas production this year, I'm making quite a few Birthday cards, my nieces birthdays are in Mar/Apr and I make cards for them from quite a few family members!

I think this card will be from me though - it's kinda expected now that my cards to them have cats on them, and this is one such cutie that I think they will love!

My card uses a lovely Gorjuss Girl image, coloured with Promarkers, Basic Grey paper, an LOTV sentiment tag and die cut flowers.

Femo must have known it was a cat card!

Holly Tree - or is that Bush?

There's a question - will have to look that up, does holly grow on a bush or a tree.  The holly on my card looks very tree like but in my garden it's a holly bush...I'll google it!

Just looked up my question...

Lots of places refer to holly as a shrub, and depending on the variety it can either be a bush or a tree - so both are correct!
