Made this one for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge using the layout given by Friday Sketchers. Papers by My Mind's Eye. Jx

Knight night!

This is my latest Sugar Nellie stamp & I've used him in this weeks Plain & Simple Challenge on Allsorts. Paper is Basic Grey & my MS punch was also in action! Jx

Fluffles - My Favourite!

... Well one of my favourite Fluffles!

Made this Autumnal card using the Sketch Saturday layout some Basic Grey paper & my MS punch.

The theme also ties in nicely with the Crafty Creations challenge this week, which is falling leaves.

Jx

Christmas Again

Love this Sugar Nellie stamp, & the easy peasy layout on the Sugar Bowl Challenge this week!

Also included a bit of stitching so I could enter it into the Crafty Catz Challenge too. Jx

The Penultimate Mombasa Post!

Well you'll all be glad to hear that we can now wrap up the fundraising for Books Abroad and Mission To Mombasa. Not only did we raise the required £2200, we actually shot past & raised £2358. Obviously we are all really pleased about this & wish to thank everyone who has supported us on the way.

It's now only 2 and a bit weeks till the trip, so as you can imagine things are getting just a little bit exciting here!

Will do my final posting on the trip once Alan is back home & I'll let you see some of his pics. Jx

White Christmas

A slightly different card this time, as the only colour is on the image. That was the challenge on I Love Promarkers this week. So this card is made using an Anita's stamp, coloured with promarkers and mounted on star embossed panels.

I'm also entering this one into ABC Christmas where we are on letter T for tree.

In the Bah Humbug Challenge, where the challenge is stars and in the colour create challenge, where again the challenge is all white. (Thanks for that Coops!) Jx

Christmas Post

Here's my card for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge, made using their layout, a gifted image & some old Christmas papers.

I'm also entering this one into the Papertake Challenge which was animal magic as it includes a hedgehog & robin. Jx

Rock Idol

I bought this stamp at the beginning of the summer on a trip to Elgin & the Papercraft Shop - home to Funky Kits/Sugar Nellie. Eventually I've got round to using it.

I struggled last week with the Sugar Bowl challenge, I made my card using a print out of the layout, only to find I'd missed out the circle mount as it didn't show on the printout. I then realised that all my circle nesties were too small for the size of stamps I have... PROBLEM! Then last night in a flash of inspiration, I thought why not use a CD - perfect size & ties in really well with the musical theme of this card for the Sugar Bowl Challange & also the music/dance theme set on the Crafty Creations Challenge. Angel Tilda

Can you wear out a stamp? If you can, this could be the one!
Tilda's back for this card following the layout in the I Love Promarkers Challenge. The only problem with this card is - I have to give it away as it was made to order! Funny how some cards you don't want to part with.

Angel Tilda

Using the Layout given in the Bunny Zoe's Crafts Challenge I've made this Christmas card. I've compiled it with Anita's Classic Christmas - Blue papers and the lovely Tilda as a Christmas Angel Stamp - one of the cutest Christmas stamps around this year. (I think!) Jx

PS I know Tilda looks a bit "pasty faced" here but her dress is infact pale blue - it's just not showing too well in the photo!

Mistletoe

Christmas seems to be creeping up upon us, so I have decided to do Christmas cards from now on in unless it's for an order - well that's the plan!

So I've used my Sugar Nellie stamp along with some of last years Christmas papers, (don't know who's) to make this card for the Friday Sketchers Challenge & the Crafty Catz Challenge, which was to use green & chocolate.

Green Card

What fun I have had today, playing about with this card & learning new things - let me explain... Well my card is like no other I have made to date. It's green in colour but green by nature too - can you spot the recycled coke can?

Yes you read correctly, but I had a double take last night when I read a thread over on Do Crafts which directed me to this blog page by Craft-Fairy

Having read all about it last night, coke was purchased & consumed today then I set to work on the can, it's so easy & I love the finished die cuts.

Now as luck would have it, the challenge on My Partner in Crafting Crime was a 3-2-1 recipe, 3 embs (2 ribbon bands & a gem), 2 papers - yup got that & to add something unusual to your card, that you normally wouldn't - so I thought I ticked off that bit of the challenge nicely with my coke can numbers.

Finally I also did a load of paper piecing on my PB lady, giving her a lovely co-ordinated outfit and so fitting the challenge on Crafty Cats.

African Lion

As the date for my son's charity trip to Africa gets ever closer, & fund raising begins to draw to a close, (see my last post), he has a few thank yous to give.

One big thank you has got to go to the folks at Turriff Bowling Club for all their help last Friday with the Quiz Night - so this card is made for them.

It's coming from my son & has an African flavour & uses the PB image Roar along with Basic Grey Granola paper & a couple of CB folders.

I'm entering it into the following challenges;

PB Saturday Challenge - Male Card
Allsorts - Autumn Colours
Sketch Saturday - Used Their Layout.

Mission To Mombasa Quiz Night

For those of you who are following our fund raising progress, you will be pleased to hear that our Quiz Night was a huge success.

We raised £621, with the help of Turriff Bowling Club & its members so a huge thank you to them and all those who supported us.

We have now raised a staggering £2103, & I'm absolutely delighted - the end is well & truely in sight now. Jx

Silver Wedding

This is another card made to order this weekend, with take 2 of the Sugar Bowl Challenge layout - can't enter this card either as the stamp isn't Sugar Nellie it's Anita's... 3rd time lucky though!

Jx

Minus Mistletoe!

I really love this Sugar Nellie stamp, & I know it's a Christmas one cause it's called Mistletoe... however with a bit of masking, you can turn it into a year round stamp, perfect for an anniversary card.

This was to be my entry in this weeks Sugar Bowl Challenge - only I just spotted a circle behind the image - why did that not show up in my print off of the layout!!! Oh well at least I've made one of the cards I had to do for an order! Jx

Father Christmas

This card was made using Papermania Christmas papers & a Rubber Stampede stamp called Santa Collage. I'm entering it into the ABC Christmas Challenge along with the Docraft Snoflake Challenge. This week the challenge was S for Santa - but not red!

Jx

Couples Cruise

Found this stamp on line when I was looking for another by High Hopes Rubber Stamps and as luck would have it, it ties in nicely with several of this weeks challenges! I'm therefore entering this card into; Friday Sketchers - (rotated sketch).
Crafty Card Makers - Clean & Simple
I Love Promarkers - Transportation
Crafty Creations - also Transportation.

Black & White

I'm entering this simple card into 2 challenges, the Papertake Weekly as I used their layout and the Crafty Creations Challenge which was white plus 1 & I went for the very imaginative... black!

Busy busy on the fundraising front this week - having just been making my cards for the box at work, I have suddenly got 7 orders all at once - so it's not just buses that do that! On top of that we have our Quiz Night on Fri - our final fundraiser so hopefully it will be a big success - fingers crossed. Jx

BBQ Dragon

Well the hunt was on this week for a dragon stamp for the Myth & Magic challenge over on I love promarkers. I wanted a more grown up dragon & hunted high & low for one. In the end however I fell in love with this little fellow from www.justinklined.com & so went digi!

I'm also entering the card in the sketch Saturday Challenge as I followed their layout.
The Papertake Challenge, which was Just 1 - mine was 1 colour - green.
Ooh, I can also entre it into the JustINKlined Challenge too cause I used one of their stamps.

Papers - Basic Grey - Urban Prairie

On a different note, Alan's Mombasa fund took a leap on Saturday when the Abergeldie Bowling Team visited Turriff. They read about Alan's trip, had a whip round & collected just over £60. So a huge thank you to them. The fund now sits at £1831

Fluffles Flowerpot

I love my Fluffles stamps, but don't use them quite so often now, so it was good to fish this one out of the back of the stamp drawer for this weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge. Paper again by Basic Grey, this time Max & Whiskers.

Dressing Up

I so love this image, & when I saw her spotty dress I knew I could do this weeks challenge over at Lilli Of The Valley, where the theme is dotty about circles.

Papers are again Basic Grey - Lime Rickey.

Jx

Bunny Kisses

I so love this card, it's so warm & summery - just what I need on a very wet & windy day! Ive made it using my PB Bunny Friends stamp (masked off some bunnies though!)& some Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper. I've also used a bug folder for the embossed bits & a few dew drops.

I'm entering the card into this weeks Penny Black Challenge of Summer Lovin along with the Friday Sketchers challenge, as I used their layout.
Finally it also fits this weeks Allsorts challenge which was to get inspiration from the garden or a park & as we stay in the country, we quite ofen have rabbits visit us first thing in the morning.

Finally, finally, it also fits the Crafty Catz Challenge, another I do regularly! This week they want us to use orange, brown & blue in our card. (Defo no problems with the first 2 colours, as for blue, well it is in some of the dots!)
Jx

Rudolph

Well it's a horrid horrid day here. It's not just rain that's lashing the window here, it's hail! & better than that, I'm on a stall this afternoon with Alan at a Vintage Car Rally in Banff... can't wait!

So by the end of today, I donbt it will just be Rudolph who has a red nose, mine could well be glowing too after being out in the cold and wet!

My card however is made for the ABC Christmas Challenge where it is R for Rudolph.

The image is an old Anita's stamp I have & the papers also from a few years back are Christmas Blues by Dovecraft. Oh & Ann, do you spot the dew drop you sent me?

Jx

10.20 am Vintage Car Rally cancelled due to the weather - not surprised really.

Ga-Ga!

I've actually enjoyed making this card with my new magna girl stamp from Sugar Nellie. I've coloured her in red & black, inspired by the Lady Gaga song, "Bad Romance". Now I have to admit I do like the song but I can't stand Lady Gaga I just think she's too off the wall. Having said that, I did watch the video clip posted on the Crafty Cardmakers site, & I would say it's very clever.

So, enough chatter, I'm entering this card for both the Crafty Cardmakers Challenge, having used black & red as my dominant colours. I did try the lace element, but I could only get white, & it was just a bit too pretty & nice for the card.

The card itself is made using the layout in this weeks Sugarbowl challenge. Although you can't see it too well, there are two stripes down the card however they don't show up too well in the photo due to the darkness of the Basic Grey Granola paper behind.

Jx

Another Anniversary

Just to please my husband, he wanted the anniversary card to be made using the Sugar Nellie stamp I have. Now as the card is for one of his friends I thought it only fair he have the final say. Jx

Happy Anniversary

Didn't really like the last Anniversary card I did so this is a 2nd attempt. Same Anita's stamp but different layout. This time I've followed the 3-2-1 recipe on the Papertake Challenge & used, 3 flowers, 2 dew drops & 1 ribbon. Jx

Wedding Anniversary

Made using the Saturday Sketch Challenge.

This card is also entered into the I Love Promarkers Challenge where you had to include a charm. Jx

Friday Sketchers - Christmas

As I'm doing Snoflakes Challenge on Do Crafts I have to make a Christmas card each week. Now I fell badly behind a month back, so I'm now trying to be really good & having made this card, I'm now ahead of things... for now anyway.

I used the Friday Sketchers Challenge sketch, a PB stamp called Xmouse Ornament & some Anitas papers, oh & my snowflake bug folder + some candy dots. Jx

Golfing

After missing last weeks Penny Black Challenge, I thought I'd better show face this week! Made this card using the given layout, my Teed Up PB Stamp, along with my American golfball stamp; Colour co-ordinates - vanilla cupcake buttons & Paper Cellar Men 2 papers. Jx

Off on a First Aid Course tomorrow so won't be around for the next 2 days... but there's always the evenings!

Christmas Cuddles

This was a lovely quick card for me to make, partly because I'd already cut & coloured the image whilst away on holiday a few weeks back. (I had a wallet full of images to colour when we weren't out & about.)

Anyway using the Sugar Nellie image, & a layout from a different challenge which I loved from a while back I came up with this.

Now as luck would have it, it fits the bill for the abc Christmas Challenge.

The Spotlight Technique

On Crafty Cardmakers, their challenge is to do a new technique each month, & this month it is the spotlight technique.

Now little did I know that when I've done this in the past it was a proper technique, there was me thinking I was just messing about with the goldfish bowl so thanks for teaching me something DT.

The stamp used was Delafield G651 & the papers are quite old & by Papermania. Jx

Nativity Scene

On Docrafts I signed up for Snoflakes challenge to make a Christmas card every week this year. After a dip in production last month, I have now caught up again and have 32 cards, this being week 32 of the year.

I used the layout on the Papertake Challenge along with a gifted image, thanks Sandra.

On a different note, the Mombasa fund now sits at £1647, boosted by yet another successful car boot sale today, along with the money Alan earned working at the local agricultural shows. Jx

Snowball Fun

Using this Penny Black stamp along with the layout given in the Sketch Saturday Challenge I made this Christmas card.

As the image contains animals, it can also enter the Craftycatz Challenge.

Sunny Day

I love the layout of this weeks Sugar Bowl Challenge, & will use it again I'm sure. My card this week uses my old favourite stamp, rockpool fun again - you'd think it was the only Sugar Nellie stamp I had! Honest I have more, I just thought it fitted the challenge best.

I'm also entering this card into the Crafty Cardmakers Challenge, No27, where you had to make a birthday card.

Jx

Special Delivery

I bought this stampat the Elzybelles closing down sale along with a few others. Such a shame they are closing as they really had some lovely stamps.

Anyway I'm back from holidays & in right card making mood so this is my first of 2 cards to upload.

I'm entering it into the Friday Sketchers Challenge along with the Allsorts Challenge where you had to use paper piecing.

The Isle of Arran

Just back from a lovely week spent on the Isle of Arran on the west coast of Scotland. We stayed in a lodge on the Auchrannie Estate & were allowed to use the hotel & leisure complex as guests for the week. We were so lucky weather wise, we explored heaps, hired bikes, did lots of walking & Colin even swam in the sea!

I've uploaded a few of my favourite pics. Jx

Mombasa Fundraising

A week ago, the boys arranged a fund-raising buffet night in a local Indian restaurant and managed to raise over £500 between the three of them, through ticket sales & raffles. So it's a big thank-you to the Indian Garden in Banff - a lovely place to eat & socialise. With that money, the fund now sits at £1485.47

SQA Results Out!!!

How fitting the challenge on My Partner in Crafting Crime - to make a Teen card, & as luck would have it, that's just what I was doing this week.

Using one of my new Tim Holtz stamps I made this card for Alan, to celebrate his exam success in the SQA exams - he received his results by text 5 mins ago! We are all very proud of you Alan, well done indeed.

Dressing Up Time

Well it should really be packing up time not dressing up as we head off on holiday to Arran on Sat morning, but you know how it is with these challenges!

Had to make this card though as it ties in with 3 challenges which include;

Sketch Saturday - Used their layout.
Allsorts Challenge - Dressing Up.
& Crafty Catz - Material Girl.

So the card itself is made using a LOTV stamp, Basic Grey Max & Whiskers paper & material scraps. Not forgetting the Wild Orchid flowers - a first for me. Jx

Cupcake Delight

Well it didn't take me long to start using my new stamps. Firstly with my Hero Arts cupcake cling stamp I made this thank you card for my sis. Now as luck would have it, it fits in perfectly with this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge where the theme is "White & Bright". Jx

PB Saturday Challenge No 112

This is one of my older Penny Black stamps, infact it was the first PB I bought! It's called Tender Showers, & it's still one of my favourites.

I've used it this week when making my Penny Black Saturday Challenge card, using the recipe of 1 circle, 2 papers & 3 flowers. The flowers were stamped using a transparent stamp from the Papermania Doodles set, but don't ask me about the papers, they are the last few sheets I have from a prize I won over on Do Crafts about a year ago. Sam, (Whisperscards) sent them to me & I'm sure when she reads this post, she'll say who they were by. Thanks again Sam, I've loved every sheet! Jx

Rockpool Fun

The challenge (39) on the Sugar Bowl is to use any of the previous layouts set. I've gone back to wk 25 for my layout and have made my card using,

Sugar Nellie - Rockpool Fun stamp
Bo Bunny - Sunkissed party paper &
My Happy Birthday embossing folder.

On the Mombasa front this weekend, we raised over £120 doing a bag pack, so Alan's total now stands at £1291.
