Into The Woods

Almost the end of March, soon there will be leaves on the trees again and Winter will be behind us.  I made this card however last month, on a wet weekend when the trees were bare and Summer a long way off!

What isn't a long way off however is the next challenge over at MAWTT, chosen by Terrie and she's asking for projects relating to the theme...

Now initially I was going to do a woodland creature on my card, but as I rummaged through my real stamps, I came upon this stamp again - it's very simple but I do love it!

So the ink dusters and distress inks came out along with Papermania Capsule Collection papers, and the end result is above!

Something that always happens on my cards to some degree, so my only decision was which image to choose!  In the end, I went with this lovely feminine dresser off the Shawn Jenkins Collection, and the results are below,

As well as lots of layers, I have a die cut flower, punched leaves ribbons and buttons all used to embellish my card.

Mid March already, and what better theme that;

Spring is in The Air

for the latest challenge over at Ooh La La.

So Spring can mean so many things, daffodils, chicks, and in my case ... bunnies!

Today's files come from one of the older Ooh La La CD's - (still available to buy from the online shop though).

The CD is Everyday Occasions and the files - Bunny Garden.

Everything on the card is from the CD except the sentiment and kraft.

For my card I went with a super cute newish Bugaboo stamp which just appealed to me.  A little sad unicorn sat on a rainbow, wishing his dreams could come true... it could just be me sat there the way i'm feeling just now!

Sorry again about picture quality - white cards/dark days...say no more!

Colouring as always by Promarkers and my card is finished with Hobby House pearl strands and corner die cuts.

Cupcake Creams

Another Monday and another new challenge over at Ooh La La.  This time it's Julie who is hosting and she has chosen a favourite theme of mine...

Embossing

It's up to you what kind of embossing you do - feel free to get out those powders and heat gun, but as I'm using CD files, I have gone to the aid of my bigshot and embossing folders!

So this time it's files from the Shawn Jenkins CD - I chose Cupcake Creams - love the colours on these files and I thought they coordinated perfectly with kraft card.

So it's a simple design, the image is on a daisy embossed kraft bed and the card is finished off with a ribbon, a die cut flower and some buttons.

Another CAS card, simple design and a decoupaged camera.

I'm off in tonight to see him and hopefully out somewhere fine for a spot of food!  Might even manage to take a pic!  Jx

Solitary Sunflower

Today's card is for my next door neighbour for her Birthday today.  Happy Birthday Stella!

It's a CAS card using a single sunflower and a little verse...and as we are heading off today on a little adventure I thought the sentiment quite fitting!

Sorry again for the horrid colour of the photo - soon be summer and I'll have better pics! So my card is a first for me - Tim Holtz pens, a water spritz and ta-da a card!

The flower head is double stamped then a lovely sparkly from Hobby House popped in the centre.

Ring a Ring o' Roses

Today's new challenge over at MAWTT is a real fun one!

What a fantastic theme eh? Well I thought so anyway and had great fun making my card using a lovely new image (to me) from Aurora Wings.  I'm hoping that Wendy will allow a halo of roses to count as a ring - otherwise I'm goosed!

So my card uses gorgeous rose papers, given to me over a year ago by my dear friend Sue. Unfortunately I never got round to using them earlier, but that's not cause I don't love them, Sue they are so lovely and just the perfect match for this image, so thank you, (xxx).

Finally my card is completed with pearls, roses and a gorgeous ribbon from Ka De We, my favourite department store - sadly in Berlin though!

Colouring as always is with Promarker with a brush of Flexmarker.

I always think it is important to say thank you, and what better way to say it than with a pretty card.

For my card, I used files off the Paula Oakley CD - this one's called Sunflowers/Nasturtiums.  It's a lovely bright image perfect for the job I'd say!

So for my card I went with this biker Ted, off the Everyday Occasions CD.  My husband always spoke of his love of his Chopper bike when he was little, so this image made me think of him and the antics he got up to on two wheels!

The image and papers are all off the CD, I just added die cut clouds and a ribbon.

New Home

Today's card is a bit late in the making but hopefully it will now have been received.  It's for my dear crafty friend Susan and her family who moved north at Christmas.  Hopefully soon we'll be able to meet up and share some crafty time together. (x)

So. my card uses an image and papers are from one of Susan's favourites - Lili of The Valley.  It's one of their digi stamps and shows a lovely country cottage.  I've coloured it with my usual Promarkers, then added little wooden hearts.

In The Air

Well, are you gradually getting back into the old routine now that the festivities are all past?  It's months since I made and posted 2 DT cards in the same week, but that's what I've done with this DL CAS card for MAWTT.

The challenge theme this time is;

So I guess you could take that quite a lot of ways, balloons, birds, insects to name but a few or in my case planes.

This is the first time I've used this Funky Kits image called FF High Flyer - available as a digi here.  And I've just popped over to the Sugar Nellie page and discovered they are to close - so sad as it is a local company, based in Elgin.  They had lots of cute stamps and still have a few, so if you like this digi - grab him while you can!

Now I have to admit, my colouring skills (as always using Promarkers,) are pretty rusty, but like last year I aim to improve them with the help of Kit & Clowder - last year I bought a class...this year I hope to do it!!!

Firstly, Happy New Year everyone - hope it's a healthy and happy one for you all.

It seems like ages since I last posted on here - probably cause it has been ages!  So many Blogger changes too, I hope I manage to get this to work!

Today I'm here after our extended Christmas break to welcome you all to our new challenge over at Ooh La La.  And today we are working to the theme of;

It's up to you how you interpret this, but for me I went with butterflies and flowers and a good few pearls!

My image and papers are off the Occasions section on the Shawn Jenkins CD then I used a variety of textured embellishments to decorate my card.  I also double printed the butterflies and layered them up to add further dimension.

I'd also like to say hi to our newest teamies, Jane and Meg who are now crafting for us on the Ooh La La design team - great to have you ladies on board.

As if we weren't busy enough at this time of year without Bugaboo to come and distract us with their Bugaboo Christmas chaos Event!  & cards in 7 days!!! You up for it?

Don't know how it is with you, but up North it's freezing!  We had hail showers over the weekend and a cold northerly wind, Brrr indeed!

So once I tidied up the garden a bit, picking up loads of fallen leaves, and washed the car, what else was there to do but craft!

Not one of my favourite themes I have to confess probably cause I'm never too sure what makes a card vintage, is it an old fashioned pic, the embellishments used or a colour scheme followed, so I guess we'll leave the interpretation up to you!
